What is life like on a North Frisian island? Are young people lonely, or is the sense of community stronger than elsewhere? What is there to do? Do young people want to stay or move away?

As artist in residence at the Museum Kunst der Westküste, photographer Andreas Jorns spent several weeks accompanying around 100 young people on Föhr, both before and during the pandemic. His photographs vividly capture what he experienced with the young people: they showed him their customs and hobbies, their party venues and personal favourite places. At the same time, he took touching close-ups of young people in the midst of lockdown and social distancing.
