10 years of MKdW – Masterpieces

Ten years of the Museum Kunst der Westküste! Uniquely located on the North Sea island of Föhr, the museum focuses on the themes of the sea and the coast. Concentrating on the period from 1830 to 1930, the collection of the Museum Kunst der Westküste (MKdW) brings together artistic positions from Norway, Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands and highlights key developments from Romanticism to Expressionism. In the anniversary exhibition 10 Years of MKdW – Masterpieces, the MKdW presents outstanding paintings and prints from its own collection, supplemented by high-calibre loans from the four North Sea coastal states: images of fishing and working life meet moments of leisure and sophisticated beach life, atmospheric interiors meet wide beaches, wild shores and vast skies.
